Our beautiful Lake Livingston Real Estate has a charm of its own! You can virtually visit nearly all terrains in the Great State of Texas and The Piney Woods is a world unto itself. The expanse of Lake Livingston is second only to Lake Texoma that obviously shares two states! The main body of Lake Livingston is approximately 88,000 surface acres and is followed with countless spin-off waterways of creeks, smaller lakes, and channels that lead back to the main body of the lake.
The north end of the lake is its birthplace. The Trinity River is the mouth of Lake Livingston being fed at a constant level all the way north of Dallas. Lake Livingston is a man made lake that helps to handle the possible flooding of the river and is regulated by the Livingston Dam. As the lake rises, the Dam is used to not only keep Lake Livingston from rising too far but to allow the proper watering of the Rice fields for the farmers to the south. It turns out to be a win-win situation for all.
Where else can you find trees as tall as 100 feet that stand right next to the water? Where else will you find the amount of land and privacy between homesteads? Where else will you see the sheer amount of wildlife strolling through your front yards and landing in your waters?
Where else can you take the boat out on a Sunday afternoon and not even see another boat?
I will tell you where!
No where else but Lake Livingston Texas! Yep, "NO WHERE ELSE BUT TEXAS"
