Deb's Lake Conroe Real Estate & Stuff! : Isn't the term "SHORT SALE" an OXYMORON?

Isn't the term "SHORT SALE" an OXYMORON?

We all have to have fun once in a while. If you are in the Real Estate business then you don't need an explanation about the term "short sale". Nothing short about it.

As we all know, SHORT SALES can and usually will take weeks and months.

Like being "ALMOST DONE" or "NEAR DEATH"

Buy today! "JUMBO SHRIMP"

"ARMY INTELLIGENCE" ... don't take this personally as my son is in the Army and he laughs about it.

"CLASSIC NEW HOMES"like mother like daughter

"DUMB WAITER"struck by Alan May

"PRETTY Ugly"

Like Mother Like daughter........

and I just left a comment and used the term "GOOD GRIEF" and then laughed at myself.

I was trying for a funny post!

This is a "NEAR MISS"!

Can you think of any others? They make me laugh!

Deb, I personally think they should be called LONG SALES; as they take a very LONG time!

Textboox example I think!

LOVE your post!

We need to brainstorm and come up with another term for short sales!!!  I love your list.  It's midnight here, so my brain is off and not in creative mode.  I will be pondering and back to contribute to your list.   Thanks for the smile tonight!!! Off to sleep I go.

Short Sale is a oxymoron. moron...

They take forever.....but the banks sell short of what they are owed.

Fun post, need coffee (well more of it) for my brain to kick in.

Marchel, Long sales would work much better! One could grow old waiting...waiting...waiting!

Thanks THOM! JFF

Russell, ONLY 6 MONTHS???? yikes

Hello KIM! Glad we can still smile about it. I was up till after midnight and my girlfriend began chit chatting at 6:00am! It's going to be a "nap" day!

Good Morning Missy! I'm nursing my coffee too! Yes, the banks sell short of what they are owed but the time thing is anything but short! Sip that coffee and have a great day!

This 'Aging Yuppie' had fun reading your post.  I was lucky to close a few 'short sales' but they are such 'benign tumors'.  Once closed I celebrated with 'low-fat,diet ice cream' and felt I had so much 'extra time'.  The next one I'll go in to it 'with my eyes wide shut'!

Kelly, HA you made me laugh too! I love "begnign tumors" and diet ice cream!!!

HA! Short sales are such an 'open secret!' Sometimes its an owner's 'only choice.' Commenting your post is 'seriously funny!' In my 'unbiased opinion.'

Good stuff, thanks for sharing.

Very funny.  Short Sales are more accurately named 'Long Sales' or 'Pain & Suffering Transactions'.

Deb I had forgotten many of those - thanks for the refresher.

What's oxymoronic about Dumb Waiter?  It's a "waiter" that doesn't speak?!  I don't get that one.

Ok, ok, Alan! Now that I look at it closely it doesn't make sense to me either! lol~

So, give us a new one!

Deb, with the long process of a short sale I have thought that all along, even though it really means short the full payoff. A lot of good ones there you found for us.

Gary, see! You just gave another one! "SHORT THE FULL PAY OFF" !! Good job. Thanks, D~
