Deb's Lake Conroe Real Estate & Stuff! : Reflections of Real Estate in Black and White

Reflections of Real Estate in Black and White

mirror_reflection_v_sm.jpg picture by dabydoll

I was reflecting on past comments from my favorite people on Active Rain. I came across this one and decided to re-post. In the last year we have lost several of our favorite Rainers. Reflecting on their memories gives me joy.

Have you ever thought about just how powerful the word REFLECTION is?

"I do wish I could have done many things differently but at least today is the day I can REFLECT ON in the future...."...Deb

We can look into a mirror and see exactly how the world sees us. But, there's so much more to the word...

The root of the word is REFLECT. Now, this means more than to just "mirror".

An action of ours can REFLECT the nature of our personalities. And, can become a REFLECTION of who we are.

We can REFLECT on the past and bring forward the memories. We are but a reflection of our pasts.

To be someone we use to be we use the term, "I am a mere REFLECTION of the person I use to be".

We decorate our homes, drive a car, and dress in a way that REFLECTS our personalities.

We also run our businesses in a way that REFLECTS directly upon us.

Our clients/customers will become a REFLECTION of our service.

Their opinions of us shall directly REFLECT upon us. Our Real Estate business and personal business is branded.

If we are going to leave our footprints in this life, we should remember how they will REFLECT on us.

To REFLECT can mean to bring back memories. Whether or not they are good memories or not so good....we REFLECT.

Our REFLECTION in the mirror is pretty stark.

It is what we look like and not who we are!

When standing and looking at yourself in the mirror, next time look deeper.

Are you pleased with what you REFLECT?

Your attitude towards your business and the people you work with will REFLECT how you are doing...what you believe and who you are.

Reflect a positive attitude, hope, honesty, sincerity, empathy, humor and all the good you can muster each day. So, when you REFLECT on yesterday you can nod and smile.

Great post and so true.  Thanks for making me REFLECT- I now feel OLD!  Just kidding- I now feel YOUNG AND INVIGORATED (positive attitude).

How absolutely true and so eloquently put. Reflections are mirror images at times

Sometimes it gets really hard to muster a positive attitude, hope, honesty, sincerity, empathy, or any humor at all. Real estate transactions can sometimes bring out the worst in those around us. It makes it very difficult to rise above.

You're so right, though. How we stand, no matter how tough any situation is, makes all the difference in the world. We can't change those around us, but we can always be a better 'me'.

Thanks for posting....

I really enjoyed your post! I'll never see the word, reflect, in the same light again. Thanks!

Great post Deb!!! I have been doing a lot of reflecting lately.  It is helping me to understand a lot of things and to make positive changes.  I agree with looking at things in a positive, it certainly does help.

Deb - This one will make you dig deep and reflect with some soul searching.

This is a timely blog and it deserves a feature. I am going to suggest a feature. You always put allot of thought into your blogs.

Thank you Deb - Carl and Ceil

Deb, I don't know if you got to know Karen George but her husband has been helping me to re-design my website and it has made me very reflective.  She was so young and her husband is still so sad!

Reflection is for the mature person, willing to see their mistakes and change. Ummmm how many do that?

It is always important to stop and realize just how you are reflecting on the world and how the world is reflecting back.

Good Post Deb. Sometimes what we see in the mirror isn't what others see. Listen and know that we are not perfect. Look hard at what you are doing and why.

How many times do we have a situation and look back (reflect) on our handling of that situation and said to ourselves "I could have handled that better."  A little reflection beforehand will certainly help to make these trials turn out better for everybody involved.  Thanks for the great post!

Thank you all. I am in the "reflecting" mode as we speak. I am with my last surviving Aunt for a short and wonderful visit. She is 91 now and has the most wonderful stories of all my family. We are laughing, crying and enjoying the moment!

Steven, great thinking sir! Me too. I'm young again (still)...hee,hee.

Thank you Tom. I remember this one spilling out of me.

Waynette, they say if you smile even if you are not feeling that way that it helps turn your attitude around. Only WE are in control of our feelings.

Margo, thanks. This is a powerful word. It takes us to many levels.

Kim, it shows in your smile my friend!

Carl and Ceil, thanks! I appreciate the recommend! If we all take this to heart it can enhance our mood! I know it does for me. When I get grumbly I realize it is only hurting me. Great reason to smile!

Marchy, I learned of Karen right before her death. Losing her on Active Rain caused a wave of sadness I had never seen before. Since then after losing Carole P. I have a better understanding of the closeness we all build. We bond, enjoy each others faces and the loss is real.

Michael, you Vulcan you. Thanks. Cool pic.

Richard, my memory of the past and my reflecting keeps me who I am now.

Missy, you mean I am mature??? Wow, I know a few people that could disagree. Ha!

Claudette, we should always put our best attitude forward as the world and what happens with us does come back to us the way we reflect to it. Sounds weird but it's true!

As I reflect back on comments you've made over the years Deb your image is finely polished... Kind of like your well waxed background with beads of water.
