Deb's Lake Conroe Real Estate & Stuff! : The ActiveRainPhotoBlogger Contest - Back To My Future

The ActiveRainPhotoBlogger Contest - Back To My Future

As we grow older we begin to look at our past and wonder what we could, would and should have done differently. We tend to find pain in bad choices or lost possibilities and lost loves.

Could it be that we should be grateful for where we are today and the blessings of the future instead? In the blink of an eye my children were grown and I felt as if reasons to bound out of bed each day were lessened. I was wrong.

This child, this innocent and lovely face reminded me why I was here to begin with. Life is about creating life.

Life is about the sharing of love and knowledge and support through our God given extensions for us to move forward.

My heart opened as wide as it could without breaking in two separate pieces when I saw my Grand daughter's face through the camera.

Within the sparkle of her eyes she projected an outlook of hope and happiness for the future.

My Cecile

Within her smile and soft features and trust in the world I viewed a new and radiating hope!

A hope for the world without malice, distrust and fear.

Simple and pure is her view of life and within her smile I also gained reassurance. My personal regrets dissipated, my heart filled with joy and my outlook was filled with belief that our world will be fine.

Each and every one of our children and Grand children have the ability to make better choices, sweeten the pot with their insights, their talents, and guide the future to its peak.

As she sweetly took my hand with her fragile, long fingers and said, "I love you Mamaw", all my regrets were gone, my heart was healed, life looked positive yet again and she took me straight back to my future.

Andrea? Prom? Aw gee....she's just turned 13 and is finishing the 8th grade! No prom yet. No dates. After this she may never be allowed to leave the house! lol

Thank you Daugher. Glad you liked it and you KNOW this is how I felt. I miss when you were that age. Boy, do I miss it.

Missy, thank you. Time ticks along as if it has nothing better to do~I wish it would get a job!

Thank you William! I'm so glad you created this for us all. I've been reading other blogs and enjoying all the photos! We have a wealth of talent here...including yourself...{wink}, and you know I mean that!

There is so much potential, hope and sense of destiny, in a young face such as that.  When I look back, I don't have many regrets, nor do I ponder the what-ifs, had I taken a few different path.  There are far more lessons in life, than there are mistakes.  However, if I have hurt people along the way, I'd change that!

Posted by Myrl Jeffcoat, Greater Sacramento Real Estate Agent (GreatWest Realty) over 7 years ago

Myrl, what I wrote really made you do some soul searching. This makes me very happy. I agree with you about changing the wrong or hurtful things we have done. And, I think it's safe to assume that we all share a bit of that. What I saw in her eyes was simply trust and excitement of the future. All children's faces are beautiful and if we read their eyes we can see much of what they think and feel.

Oh my, I could go on. I usually do! lol. Let me just say that your face, to this day, shows your sweetness and lack of regret. I enjoy your smile. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for reading.

David, it's so sweet of you to say that. I saw much, much more than just a pretty little girl!

Posted by Deb Brooks (Brooks Prime Properties Wichita Falls Texas) over 7 years ago

Deb, what a wonderful entry!  Granted, I thought she was your daughter and not your granddaughter at first.

I loved your story - going from the sadness that is so often accompanied by regrets to the hope and happiness that radiates from our children and grandchildren.

I hope you are one of the winners in this contest.  As you said, I totally agree with what you said to William about this contest.

JaneAnne, I appreciate that you liked it. Very much. When I saw her through the camera I felt all that I just expressed in her eyes. Then, when I came across William's contest I knew I could finally express, in the right forum, just what I felt. I enjoy your posts so much and from you this is truly a compliment. Again, thanks.

Sally, my dear long lost friend! (kidding a little), I have been following your FB posts and I am thrilled you are about to experience the "yet again" unconditional love that comes with our children making children. Your words are sweet to my ears. And, I am soooo very glad to have you stopped by here. I wittnessed the little reminder of the future for you! What a beautiful picture of your new Grand Child. Good luck and all of God's Blessings to you and your daughter and new family!

Sondra, now how on earth could you have thought that was my daughter? You are one of the few AR'ers that have met me in person....Grandma here. I miss seeing you my friend and I hope all is well with you! Still living in the same place? I pass it way tooooo often. A glass of Merlot calls me from your house. Hugs.

Hi Deb,

That was very touching.

I thought at first it was a picture of you a few years ago.

I have to insert a facebook comment of a friend of mine and his 5 year old daughter...

Emi: I think maybe everyone loves me...except bad people

Me: And people that don't know you yet.

Emi: Yeah, but they'd probably love me if they met me.

Me: That's true.

Emi: I don't know any bad people. Are bad people even real?

:)
