Deb's Lake Conroe Real Estate & Stuff! : "I'll be Yours till the Ocean Wears Rubber Pants to Keep its Bottom Dry..."

"I'll be Yours till the Ocean Wears Rubber Pants to Keep its Bottom Dry..."

This is inspired by Louise Thaxton...who reblogged one of my posts. Visit Louise and say hello. She is a great contact!

Louise is a true sweetheart and shows herself to be a professional blogger even though she has only been here since May of this year. After she re-posted one of my recent blogs, she reminded me of just "why" my writing is important to me.

Diary of a Realtor has a special meaning to me as a group.

Not only do my friends show up posting their daily thoughts but it is a community of like minded bloggers and Professionals..

We are here to express our feelings, past and family values.

Once upon a time, my grandmother, long ago, wrote in my Diary when I was a child. She was then suffering from cancer that was soon taking her long away from us. It was a sad time. Thank you Grandma

But, one day I smiled and asked her to please write in my Diary and to make it something just for me. She smiled, took my pencil and wrote, "I'll be yours till the ocean wears rubber pants to keep its bottom dry!"

We giggled together and she gave me a long hug. I still remember that day like it was yesterday.

Thanks Louise for being the catalyst that brought this wonderful memory back to me.

I love you Grandma. Then, now, and forever. Till the ocean wears rubber pants to keep its bottom dry.

Your Granddaughter,

Deb

Thanks Hosai! It's a pleasure to meet you. And, you are welcome. You have a good evening too and I will remember you for referrals.

Laura, do it! We don't have them forever as you well know. I miss your mom so much.

Ok Deb - I'm bawling...!  Not just by what you wrote - but I went back to my SECOND grade yearbook (1961) where MY Grandma had written "Roses are Red; Violets are blue; sugar is sweet and so are you" Grandma.  And then my Granddaddy had written "When you get married and live on a hill, send me a note by a whipperwill".  And of course, bawled some more because these precious people have been gone for many years ....and even now I miss them.

Thanks for the post, Deb....even if you DID make me cry tonight!

And, good night Louise. I cried too. I guess it was just a night for special memories and the building of future ones. Glad to have you as a friend.

That's really nice. I never really knew my grandmother. Yours left a lasting imprint that will carry with you for life, both in writing and in the subconscious of your mind.
