I had never heard of this. Thank you so much for this information. I am going to follow these instructions. We never know when it could save our lives. Thank you so very much!
Safety Tip: Do you have ICE on your cell phone? You should...
This is not the same as having your phone on ice. ICE is an acronym for In Case of Emergency. This idea has been around for a number of years, yet not everyone is adapting.
The reason for ICE on your phone is to help emergency first responders if you are unable to talk in a situation. Without this information first responders are unable to communicate with persons that may need to know about your status. Your phone is frozen like it's on ice.
In today's world, almost everyone has a cell phone with them at all times. If you are unable to communicate in an accident, a first responder can look in your phone, find the ICE contact and call that person to alert them to what is happening. It's to your advantage to have this contact information in your phone.
Think of it like car insurance. You always have it. You hope you never need it. But when the time comes to use it, you're glad you've got it.
Putting ICE on your cell phone is simple. Go to your contacts list. Create a new contact. Put the letters ICE as the first name with a hyphen and the name of the person to contact. Then add their phone number.Maybe you want to have multiple contacts. Your spouse. Your Children. Your parents. You could have more than one and simply enter them as ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 and so on.Go ahead and take a minute. Add ICE to your cell phone today.
An ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure.

I do have this, but many people see it and don't know what it means. Thanks for sharing as this is very important.
Sandy, it would only matter if the first responders know to look for it. I wonder if they always do? This is important. You're welcome.

Hi Deb...great tip for all of us to adhere to..thanks for sharing.
Another safety tip - in our office, we have a code word, "red file." So, if an agent is showing property and a client gets creepy, she calls the office and asks the floor agent for some info from a file on her desk, the "red file." The office agent knows that she is in trouble, and we send an agent or call the police to the address of the house she is showing.
Very nice customer service announcement. That is the tip of the day.
I did it and I feel better. Thanks for the tip.
Good morning Deb-I had heard about this but haven't done it. Will today. Have a super day

Deb, good idea to let more people know. I have my husband and my son as ICE on my phone. Now because of this, I'm thinking I also need to add my daughter.
Deb, thank you for re-blogging this and sharing it with your readers.
