Deb's Lake Conroe Real Estate & Stuff! : Hallow-Thanks-Mas!

This one won't be coming up on Google you know. No such word. I first heard this from  Jason Crouch.  Yes, the famous, or is it the infamous Jason Crouch? He's off making bookoos of money for his family as we speak. We are all trying to do the same. What is it you ask? This word?  Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course, Christmas or Hanakkuh depending on your choice! They are all beginning to blend together. Help keep the "commercialism" from our Holidays!

WooHoo! We are in the season of celebrating. Halloween in Lake Conroe

The word "celebrating" almost brings to mind the word "cerebral" meaning "that of the brain" and I guess we are "thinking" of celebrations! I walk into almost any store now and I can see blinking lights on trees and Santa Claus and forget about Turkeys as they are almost ready to ditch to the compost. We just keep jumping ahead of ourselves to slam the advertising of the next way to spend money! Let's get over the "commercialism" of these holidays and go back to the roots of the holidays.

Let's enjoy "people" and "friends" and "family" and get back on the track of what holidays are all about!!

Thanksgiving with my Active Rain Friends! Please, my dear friends, let's celebrate life, freedom, the potential of wealth and the ability to become friends! We have the ability to become a community and that is exactly what we all want! I do not know my city and the people who live here nearly as well as I know YOU! Thank you for that.

YOU are what makes a community and the reason to celebrate holidays!!!!

Christmas with friends on Lake ConroeSo, as we move into Hallow-Thanks-Mas, please continue to blog. It's a great time of the year to reach google and clients and even new friends. I just want to say that I'm glad to be here. I am also glad you are here. Stay safe and confident in what you have to offer the world. Never stop trying and placing your best foot forward.

We have other holidays coming up and I hope to share them with you! Keep writing and bringing AR close to your heart and pocketbook!

See ya soon!

Christmas decorations out before Halloween candy - whats this world coming too?  I agree, "lets celebrate life, freedom and the potential of wealth"

Happy Holidays to you, Deb... I just think of all that has to be done between now and the MAS!

Hi Deb, Happy Hallow-Thanks-Mas.  The pressure mounts and mounts until the first of the year, then it is almost anticlimactic as we begin the cycle again. But the alternative is totally unacceptable so...... here we go! LOL

Actually, with the weather that some of us have had as of late, with snow and all,  Hallow-Thanks-Mas seems very appropriate.  It's got to be scary for those that were in the Denver area and on the East Coast to have lost electricity.  The pretty fall colors still poked out through the snow in some places.  And just seems theoretically like Christmas weather, not that I ever saw snow in Texas on Christmas.  Well, except for that one year in Galveston.

Your reminder that we should try to keep blogging is a good reminder.   Not only do our friends on Active Rain like to hear from us, people spend more time on the internet when the weather is yucky outside.

Take care,

Marjorie, I was walking in Penny's about September 20. 2011 and they were decorating for Christmas. I was floored. I was there for some wash cloths and I was just dumbfounded....what could I say?

Liz, Liz...oh my. I have a cousin that is all done with her shopping! Yikes! Do you have a clue how that makes me feel? Shopping?'s crazy. Why do we do it?

William, LOL! You are such a hoot! I have to remember it's for children and not us old folks that have to make all the money to make it happen! LOL! First of the year? I think I'm looking forward to it. A new year, a new life and a fresh start. Hugs to you... I know you are taking these holidays very calmly. I would expect nothing less.

Hugs to all,

Sondra darling!

Hi! Yep, it's different isn't it? How are you faring? I wonder what 2012 will bring? Are your horses doing well, I hope? Are you doing well? When or maybe "are you coming home?" Where is home in your heart now? We will always be friends wherever you are.

Hey Deb.... I must I can't make myself go into stores when they have Christmas trees up before fall even arrives.  Drives me bonkers!  Just one of my little pet peeves.

Deb, it will be a word soon.  It fits the last quarter of the year holidays and all the associated marketing and hoopla perfectly.  HallowThanksMas indeed.

Hi Deb! I don't like the pressure that comes with the holidays - shopping for gifts before a deadline, decorating, cleaning, cooking, cleaning up afterward and taking down the decorations - it's exhausting! I love the feeling of the season, but the hoopla is just too much! I'd rather be blogging! :)

With everything smashed together, things get lost. I try to separate myself from the retail pressure that seems to force the holidays on us early. Family, friends, business associates can do what they choose to do. I'm not in a great hurry. I want to enjoy this day until it is complete.

You have hit the nail on the head. Yes it is HALLOW-THANK-MAS time of the year and it is unbelievable that the stores jump ahead of each holiday. I agree to go back to our roots for the holidays. It is all about family and friends and giving, helping someone less fortunate.

Make it a great day !!

Deb - lovely writing today and especially heartfelt. I am enjoying the Halloween season more this year because of the mischief in Active Rain. In fact, I'm looking forward to the whole busy blur of the next couple of months with many of my new friends in this amazing community. Thanks for being you and your shining example of what's important.

Deb what a great post.  I always get upset when I see Christmas decorations and I haven't gained my 5lbs from Halloween yet.  It's a good life.
