FUN IN BANDERA...is what we had!
I wish we all could have had much more time together. Ricki Eichler and Judi Morgan really should be commended! What a wonderful job they did for the Active Rain crowd! It took a great deal of work and planning to pull this off Ladies! Thank you! I just love you ladies...above and beyond AR!
I agreed with my husband when he said, "THAT Ricki has such an infectious smile...I sure do like her and Don!"
And Judi, you are so perky and real! Scott and I decided that you could cook for us any time! It was good to meet Ceil and Carl Winters too and Ceil I ate all the white chocolate covered strawberries! Yum.
Marchel Peterson is just as lovely as her Localism Posts! We are getting over the excuses soon and we'll be meeting for lunch. Liz Carter? Where do you get all that energy? You are like a firecracker on the 4th of July! I so enjoyed talking AR with you! Marchel and Liz are moderators for the Texas Real Estate Group! Join today.
Alan Kirkpatrick, "the" Jason Crouch and Edward Lui were with a small bunch of us that looked at a couple of Ricki's listings...
BTW, Tom Plant and I are going to write up a contract on the "big" house for later AR parties! More on that later.
These gentlemen are full of heart, fun, and family...the type of people you want to be around.
Tom (california/texas-trans) Plant!
Now, this is what Tom Plant looked like just about the entire time we were there. I understand Tom is considered the Active Rain Ambassador as he is very mobile and attends many functions.
I adore Tom. We had a great time together! His camera made me drool. He is a "semi-professional" photographer with "professional" written all over him!
To your left of the picture you will see Jason and his wife Pam visiting with Jem Woods! Jem and I didn't get to visit but a few minutes and he and wife and kids were off and gone! Next time Jim!
We all nibbled throughout the day. Ricki, Judi and Don had a full spread of veggies, chips, dips, salsa, tea, sodas and more desserts than I've ever seen in one place.
The recreational center we claimed was just beautiful. Large with all natural woods, fireplace, lots of windows and tables and chairs.
The entire Ponderosa RV park can be yours for a mere pittance of 1.2 million. Any takers?
Just let me know...you'll need representation against that Ricki Eichler Agent!
Jason had just found Tom Plant on the floor!
Jason, you really take things in stride...he might have given me a heart attack!
It was a great surprise held close to the vest of Judi Morgan!
You see Don Eichler, Ricki's husband in the middle there.
This is the shot of the house we want to buy for Active Rain get-togethers!
It's Ricki's listing and I fell in love.
It sits on one acre on a bluff next to an emerald green stream.
Now, here's my plan.....
If all 80,000 of us members donated $10.00 (mailed directly to me) we could all hold undivided interest in the house and we would have a place to party!!
Whaddaya think? Send money anyway.
Where's Tom Plant?
Is he still on the floor?
Oh, I see him!
He's in front of the Oak Tree that sits in front our house!
Wow, nice tree, Tom.
Jeff, the owner of our house, Michele and Alan Kirkpatrick.
Downtown Bandera...Saturday afternoon!
Close "butt" no cigar.
See Tom...
that's what I was talking about!
It was good to meet Trey Thurmond and his wife, Kris!
They came all the way from College Station.
Alan, Jem, Edward, Jason..
Picture of people taking pictures of people taking pictures of people taking pictures...
you get the picture.
More and more...
Judi taking my picture taking her picture...
blah, blah, blah...
We took a lot of pictures.
Kris Thurmond behind her.
The wedding party.
Invitations will go out soon for Tex and Mollie's wedding.
NO BULL!
The baked goods sale was successful and we raised a few dollars for David Wilder's family and had a great time.
Ricki, Trey and Carl Winters.
Gail Tassey is one of my blogging buddies for sure! Gail, we barely got to say two words to each other!
You ran off sooooo early.
More time next time?
STOP THAT DON!
As our Active Rain get together drew to a close it was sad to see everyone leave! I can tell you though, I will be there next time too! Ricki, Judi, next time at Lake Livingston, huh?
LOVE TO ALL! LATER IN THE RAIN~DEB

and Proud of it!

Hey Deb, it was so much fun, wasn't it. I'm just finishing up my post. Tom, my house guest, left at noon today. We had a great visit with him -- have more pictures from our Sunday and Monday adventures.
Our first Texas Active Rain Gathering was a TEXAS SIZED success!!! After reading all the posts and seeing all the great photos of the fun we were having, how could anyone even thick of NOT attending the next one. Deb, let me know, if you need help planning the one in Lake Livingston.
Missy, It would be very fun Missy. I really enjoyed it being casual instead of "coctail stuffy". I did just fine on iced tea! I wish you could have been there. It was a blast!
Judi, Judi, what're you trying to say? Does this mean the next one is going to be at my lake? How fun! Just a little shocking!! Wow, I had better get started planning! What should we eat? I can't beat the brisket!
Thanks again for making it so much fun...I wish we had gotten in on some dominoes! My shoulder wouldn't be so sore!
Deb
Don't worry Judi, I think it's my shooting skills. Or, lack thereof. You looked great! Hey you can send me the picture of me taking a picture of you taking a picture of me...man that gets tiring.
I so enjoyed meeting you. Our area would be wonderful for the next one. Hey when is the happy couple getting married?
Later in the rain~Deb
Liz will be making the announcement sometime this week. I took pictures of some "must haves" for the bridal registry. Get ready to go shopping for Tex & Ms. Molly!!! hehehe
I'll send you the picture of you taking a picture of me taking a picture of you...
My post is up -- I linked to everyone's post...so if mine is found they'll follow the links to the other posts...
Debra & Scott, We did so enjoy meeting you two and the fun everyone had will long be remembered. We also enjoyed having breakfast with you two on Sunday morning at the OST. Did you get to make the trip to Medina? I hope so because that is such a neat place "The Apple Capital of Texas" and that apple ice cream. This is a neat blog and many good pictures. How many AR members are in Texas? I thought we coud all send say a $100.00 or even a Thousand and buy that house. See you .

down in the Grand State Texas. I am so lucky to
see so many fine photo's of all of ya having alot of fun.
I really enjoyed reading your post about the Gathering Deb.
I always enjoy reading all my Texas friend's posts, and thats for sure.
Hey thanks Judi, and linking to all posts was a great idea! I may try that one myself. You take care and we'll visit soon.
Hey Don, I'll just bet we could get larger donations with less people! We could have our own time share! I hope you and Ricki have recovered from the hectic weekend! We had a great time!
Dale, you are just going to have to make the next one! We had a ball. It (the time) just went too fast...as it always does. Thank you for the compliments and I'm glad you enjoyed the pics.
Hey Trey, I got a pretty great shot of you didn't I? I like it! We will visit. Not a problem. We'll see you soon.
Later in the rain~Deb

Marchel! I thought it was a great picture! I got so many!
Vanessa, It was sooo much fun! Just getting to "hear" the voices instead of reading them! Hugs were good too.
Jennifer, yes it was great. You can come to one of ours too! Anyone who comes is an honorary Texan!
Judi, Scott had so much fun too. He was kidding about your friends. He feels like a part of the AR family now. In fact, he may even start blogging! Yea rah!
Edward, I almost did. I love the place. The house, the land, the area. All fine with me! It was great meeting you and your family.
Hi Deb, I love your post! Very good pictures and so interesting and fun. I love the Trans-Plant! And the time share idea is great. What's your address? I'm sending my $10. now. BTW- the Pomarosa is 1.75m but just get an offer. We'll be happy to look at it! :) I'll set up an appt anytime you want to bring a buyer to look. We enjoyed breakfast with y'all so much. Yes, we may be coming east next time. We'll get together and talk soon. OK? Later...Ricki
Hey Bob, we had a ball. I wanted to load all my pictures but I thought it might be overdoing things a bit! There were ssssoooooo many nice people. I felt lucky to be able to be there!
Kathy, Thank you for commenting on mine too! I was late writing it but like I said...better late than never!
Ricki, the feelings are mutual I assure you. Yes, we must get together soon. East Texas is fine too! Anywhere as long as it's not ON THE FLOOR! HA.
Later in the rain~Deb
Howdy Deb - Looks like you have already had many stop by to make a comment or two on your great blog summary of the Gathering over in Bandera. It was nice of you to bid on the left over strawberries; after sitting out all day they didn't look very temptng, it was for a good cause. The auction at the end just made the day complete. Thank you and Scott for coming all the way to Bandera to meet with all your AR blogging friends. See ya at the next AR Gathering.
AWE, Carl, that's so sweet. I loved Ceil's strawberries. Really! It's worth the donation for Jason's friends. I am so sorry she's in this situation. Life is not fair and maybe what John Lennon wrote about was true. Only the good die young.
Well, I'm still here.! Hum. what does that say?
Y'all seemed so nice and yes, I'm looking forward to the next visit. We are already a family of Texas and I hope it grows each day! Say hello to Ceil and I will see you Later in the rain~Deb
