Deb's Lake Conroe Real Estate & Stuff! : LEARN HOW TO LEARN...ANYTHING...ON ACTIVE RAIN...

LEARN HOW TO LEARN...ANYTHING...ON ACTIVE RAIN...

Several of Deb's Buddies have been asking, "Deb, how did you do that?" Please keep in mind that Deb does not really know what Deb is doing. Deb simply knows that Active Rain is awesome!

Active Rain is comprised of many of the most talented and brilliant "computer gurus" alive today!  How does Deb know this you ask? Because up till a few measly months ago Deb didn't know the difference between Software and Hardware. Period. Not a clue. And, not much of an exaggeration.

Active Rain taught Deb how to Copy and Paste. Really! That was a major feat!

Today, she is (very amateurishly I might add) creating some pretty cool stuff! She is creating rough HTML (messy yes) but straying away from the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) tab in to a more technical world! Photobucket

That was her then but this is ME now!

I am confident that I can LEARN HOW TO LEARN...ANYTHING...ON ACTIVE RAIN...

I am not coming in to do a "how to" post. Not me. I am not proficient enough in any one area to do so. I still don't know how they get the screen grabs to show you where to click on the screen.

Enough of what Deb doesn't know. Here's a peek at what Deb does know.

If you want to know...ANYTHING COMPUTER OR SOFTWARE RELATED...go to SEARCH. Right here. Active Rain Search. Type in what you want to learn. Voila, it won't just Rain, it will pour information. Easy to follow perfection.

I'll go try screen grabs. Okay, the first on the list is by Andy Gordon. I will try his instructions.

I did it! It literally took me 3 minutes...three minutes and I have learned something new and expanded my horizons!

Active Rain is becoming the new

Marchel Peterson, Liz Carter, Georgina Hunter and others have asked me to teach them how to do a slide show. Well, I've only done two ever so that would be tough. Here's how I learned!

Candace taught me how to do this with her post. I simply typed in SLIDESHOW into our SEARCH and up came a host of "how to's". Candace's post was easy to read and follow. If I can do it anyone can!

Deb, I cannot tell you how much I have learned from Active Rain ...and the great tips are endless.  I also have some computer issues, someone was trying to help me, had to do with an HTML .. it is so beyond me that simple instructions on it even go above me.  I have some issues with my website, that I was playing around with, and now dont know how to fix that ......... things were real hectic this week and into next week, but hopefully will be able to just sit down and ask my fellow AR people how to get myself out of this mess......thank goodness for AR!

Eric, I don't really have the time either. I have to choose between the computer and sleep. This explains the dark circles under my eyes. :-)

Ernie and Barb, Gosh, I'm so sorry to hear what happened! I know you can find the help you need here without question. As I explained, it wouldn't be me but you can't miss with the gurus that occupy this cyberspace! They are incredible, generous and clear and to the point. What more could we ask for? I so hope you get this worked out quickly! Good luck and stay in touch.

Hi Elizabeth! Isn't that just a horrible thing to admit. I have always used this computer as more of a word processor or a simple surfer! I'm so glad I learned...and right here in the rain. No one had ever explained it to me before. I wish I knew who it was and I would thank them!

Kathy! There is just so much here! I couldn't even begin to list the great bloggers that share their "brains" with us. I thought about trying to list a few but I just couldn't take the chance of missing the other 960 people that are so worth mentioning. I'm glad you came by and I hope this helps some. See you soon!

Marchel! Hello there! I did this really for you! I thought about sending the information directly to you but I figured that If I was going to write it I might as well share with everyone. I will look forward to hearing how you feel about the slide show software. It is just too wonderful. Our business is popping! How's yours? We will meet soon. I really need to get to The Woodlands Mall...hey that sounds like a wonderful date for the two of us to do! Shopping is one of my weaknesses.

Deb, learning is a) not being afraid to learn and try things and make mistakes and b) finding the time and allocating that time to it. Time I think is critical for all of us in splitting it between business, family, and learning (and brushing our teeth : ) )

Watch that "You" don't become the guru, or there goes more of your time!! ; )
