Deb's Lake Conroe Real Estate & Stuff! : WIDGET WORTH WATCHING!

WIDGET WORTH WATCHING!

I am finding that the phrase "necessity is the mother of invention" is holding true throughout the ages. Little by little I am learning to take advantage of the incredible information here on Active Rain.

I have toyed with the idea of adding widgets to my sidebar for some time. I stormed over to my profile's edit bar and clicked. I knew nothing. I gave it a try with our company logo and well, I actually got the logo in there but what a mess it looked like! Yuk.

I was continually annoyed at the mess on my sidebar till I found a reason to care about the sidebar today!

I had a slight interest in widgets, like knowing who's looking at my posts or maybe waving at them when they were there but I never felt like it was "NECESSARY" until today.

Today, I found the reason to go the extra mile to learn "HOW TO". I went to our faithful "SEARCH" and typed in "add widgets to sidebar" and just as I suspected...up came every helpful "HOW TO" post ever written on this subject from many of our AR Stars.

Thank you for all the helpful posts. . I read two of the posts and proceeded to my Profile to Edit like a Pro!

I removed the awful logo with messy code and added what I felt really belonged there. I am hoping each and every person on this site will add this to their profiles.

It's simple and easy and could save our children's lives. Please everyone...Add the Amber Alert!

OR: Simply click here to learn more of how we can all help protect our children!

Yes, they do ask for a donation but it is minimal. It's not required so load this in hopes of a great future!

This, my friends, is a widget worth loading! Thank you for your support. We must protect our children. Bless you!

and Proud of it!

I am going to work on my side bar too.  I did not realize we could modify it!

I realized it a long time ago but I had the attitude that it would be to difficult to mess with. I'm glad this came along and has forced me to learn! Don't be afraid of it. It's not hard! Later in the rain~Deb

Klarque, it really is! Now, it wouldn't be if our pros weren't right there telling us step by step what to do but OMG they answer ALL our questions and make it simple.

Do it! And, stop on by and see me sometime! Later in the rain~Deb

Debra.. I must be too much of an old school type of person.  I love keeping up with technology, but I still have troubles grasping onto concepts.. the sidebar widgets is one of them.  I guess I will have to read up on it, again.

Hi Valerie, I think it just requires an easy does it, step by step, determination! You CAN do it! Go to search, type in "add widget to sidebar" and voila!

If you seek, you will find! It's so cool. Jeff Turner actually "talks" you through it!

Debra, You have a moving amber alert also, too cool!  Next time I make it to my sidebar I will try and add it.  At the moment I seem to be doing good to get my 10 comments a day.  Real estate and gardening seem to be taking my time.

I have briefed over widgets in the past, but think I may be able to work on them now that I can actually write and post a blog.  One step at a time.  Your post was encouraging!

Jennifer, I'm glad it's encouraging! I guarantee that if I can do it anyone can! It just takes a step by step approach! Good luck and keep blogging.

Hi Charles! How are you doing these days? How's your business going there in Charolettesville? Good I hope. We've been really busy so I feel blessed. Let's stay in touch.

Lissa, You're right about protecting our children...even young adults. Thanks for loading it.

Hi Kathy! You have a great week to and did you ever check on the name?? Let me know.

Deb - I am slowly learning how to do some of these "thingy's" but takes me several tries. Finally did get the new blog look looking like something. Judi Morgan said she would help me sometime with the widgets on the side bar. Active Rain certainly does offer so many avenues to help us promote our blogs.

Aloha Debra:

Mahalo for mentioning the widget sidebar in your blog....I'm not much of a techky and have noticed this sidebar too. As a newbie, I will venture into deeper waters and will give it a try.

Carl and BWP, how are you two doing? I'm so glad to hear another Rainer calling them thingy's. That's what they are to me too! I'm still looking forward to the wedding! And, Ceil, you can cook for us any time!

Debra:

I will forever have a new nickname. In High School, I played basketball. A few of my teammates were amazed at some of the moves I made going to the basket. They thought they looked very smooth and almost like a ballet, so they called me the Swan. Ha. Now I am Kickapatty. Thanks for the upgrade.

Posted by Alan Kirkpatrick, Alan in Austin (Austin Texas Homes) over 10 years ago

Mr. Kickapatty, You and Michele have a wonderful name...now as long as you answer to Kickapatty we will do just fine! I certainly see you as the swan but never the ugly duckling. No, no, no. Our Mr. Swan Kickapatty is mentoring the happy couple for their wedding night...can you share what you're telling Tex?

Okay, probably not...but inquiring minds want to know. Later in the rain~Deb

Hey Kevin, My problem is that I want to try every widget there is! I just got a new pooter and we're still getting to know one another. So, I am learning what I can and cannot do. I want to try them all but my pooter has limitations. Are there any you reccommend? Let me know. Later in the rain~~Deb
