Deb's Lake Conroe Real Estate & Stuff! : 103 degrees...mini vacation at Sonic with my grandbabies!

103 degrees...mini vacation at Sonic with my grandbabies!

Cecile AlayneDear Diary, It is July 23rd, 2008 and it is 103 degrees here in Huntsville Texas.

What does one do in 103 degrees in July in Texas? Well, they go eat outside of course!

Ask Marchel...she knows. When you're a Texan it shows in your eating habits.

Air conditioning all around us and we decided to pick up my grand-babies and take them to SONIC!

Yum yum. Greasy burgers and crispy onion rings!

Yee ha! We had a good time. This is pure quality.

Meet Cecile Alayne my first grandbaby girl above! Cecile is 11 years old and going on 30. She is bright, talented, sweet and my favorite Cecile in the whole world. She is my namesake. I am Debra Alayne...well. you know the rest. Tehya Chey

Meet Tehya Chey...American Indian plus Cheyenne...

She's a beauty too.

She looks totally annoyed (most of the time)

because of..............

Wyatt Hunter

my Wyatt Hunter! This is Mr. "I want to annoy my sister and anyone else that will let me" child.

He does a really great job of it and we all love him!

Along with this grimace comes a true growl.

And he means it... so there!

Kyle

and this is Kyle, my very bright "talk a mile a minute" step grandson.

He is a doll and of course, Wyatt's best friend.

He says...mamamamamamammamamammma

What? I say. "Uh,....I forgot."

But don't worry, he'll come up with something!

I am missing Julie although she is in my heart...She is Kyle's sis and my step granddaughter.

She is a large part of our little family and we missed her today. It was hot. We had lunch. And then played like crazy. Wyatt Hunter

We just played, ate and had fun.Tehya Chey

The beauty of youth.

The orange shirts are all a part of the Montesori School, "Tomorrow's Promise"...what a great name.

Lunch

We ate really greasy and bad stuff...yum.

And then it was time for desert!

Cecile

I love my babies.

Even though they're growing up.

Wy Wy

There was just so much to do but lunch was over so it was time for ice cream.

Kyle and Wyatt

Now we're talkin'.

Beats the heat.

Tehya and her freckles and Ice Cream!

With Blue Bell Ice Cream we can all live in 103 degree weather.

At least at this age.

Tehya

My first job in my lifetime at age 13 (except for baby sitting) was at this very Sonic.

They made me roller skate to the cars with the food.

One of the 'hunks" that I had my eye on drove in one day and placed his order. I was so nervous that when I skated out to give him his tray....I dumped it in his lap.

Boy was he upset...he was glad to see me the last time we ran in to each other. He tried to buy my boat!

Cecile and her Ice Cream.

Cecile made it look really good.

What a great way to spend the lunch (2) hours.

I'll do this again soon.

I love you my daughter! And my babies.

End of lunch. We had a wonderful time for a dreadfully hot day!

Thanks for joining us.

This is for my kids...

All of them.

i'm still in shock that you have grandchildren....never mind that many!....and to have them close by andbe able to enjoy them!   you're one lucky lady...:-) and by the looks of it those kids are lucky to have a grandma like you!  :-)

Debra:  It looks like they're making grandmothers younger and younger these days !  What a great group of kids... who needs cable or Dish with this group around.  Enjoy !

Debra - great pics of the grand kids, it looks like a good time was had by all. Thanks for sharing. I confess, in 103 degrees, I would have been watching the playing, from the shade while sipping on something cool. And if my wife were there, it would be Taco Villa instead of Sonic.

DEB - Now I'm getting taunted in blog form!  My wife and I see the Sonic commercials all of the time, and it makes us want to get in the car and go to Sonic, but there are none within driving distance of our home.  I'm glad that you and the grandkids had a good day together.

Awesome eye candy of the grandkids!  I wish we had a Sonic!!!!  There's a business venture for you....Open a Sonic in Missoula, MT.  :-)

Deb, I would have never thought you had grandchildren either!  Thay are ALL precious and I can't think of a better way to spend the day!  I love being around children, it lets you remember how to see things through THEIR eyes again!

Good morning Deb!!!  It looks like you all had a lot of fun at the Sonic.  Your kids.....nope you told us they are your grand kids....are you really sure that your brain isn't still fried from the Texas heat?  The kids are all so cute!    Tomorrows Promise - so fitting a name.  In their faces, you did a great job of capturing the enjoyment  found in eating ice cream.

I love Sonic - the Cherry Limeades are my favorite.

I'm curious, did the hunk still look like a hunk after all of these years?

You don't look old enough to have grandbabies!!! But what a great bunch of kids!! A hot day and lots of fun. We are getting a sonic in town and my brothers are soooooooooooooo excited!

Liz, My oldest is 13. Whew, I was a young granny back then! I do love getting to watch them grow up. That's one of the small town pleasures. They keep me young!

Karen Anne! They can be a handful that's for sure! When we go out to eat we have to ask for a table for 9!

Yvette, thanks. I would love to see more pics of your own little ones!

Mike, I stayed in the shade most of the time! And, I was sipping something cool! There's no other way and I like Mexican food too!

Adam, I wouldn't call it a destination restaurant! Burgers and fries only go soooo far! Although I met with my calorie intake for the week in one meal!

Clint, there might be a venture for you! Everybody loves Sonic! But, in the snow????

Carole, thank you. They are certainly precious to me. Everything for them is a new and wonderful experience.

Sondra, no way. I saw him and went...yuk. What was I thinking? He missed out on a pretty good thing though!

Lindsey, thanks. Grandmothers don't look quite like they use to! I think it's a good thing you know. I still hope to grow very old with white hair and an apron around my round belly. I would enjoy that!
