Deb's Lake Conroe Real Estate & Stuff! : Positively Negative...or, Negatively Positive?

Positively Negative...or, Negatively Positive?

Most of us have heard of the supposedly new "Secret".  "The Secret," written by Rhonda Byrne is a worthwhile book to read.

I don't think it was necessarily written to tell us something that we had never heard but more to reiterate the lessons we have been taught during our lifetimes.  It was written to connect all the "dots" we have learned during our time on this earth.

Such is written in our very own Ethics of Realtors. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".  The world wants you to understand that you can create your own reality.  If your thinking is based on negative thought then you will be creating negative energy and everything and everyone around you will react in a negative way.  Envy begets envy and distrust begets distrust.

Likewise, a positive attitude will deter negativity.

Being positive can turn a negative attitude around completely.  I believe that positive thinking,

a positive attitude, a bright outlook and a sunny disposition are great ways to think and be

but I also believe that ACTION must accompany the attitude.

If we all just sat on our laurels and thought "sales thoughts", the unfortunate truth is that

we would positively be run into the poor house.

None of us are perfect but we can strive to be daily! If you get a chance grab the book. It should help your outlook on the world in general. We all need to remain positive in difficult times and sometimes that's easier said than done. This little book should perk you up! And, our Gary Woltal, of course!

I read "The Power of Positive Thinking" in 1952 and I've lived it every since.

The Secret was very motivational, I liked the movie better than the book.

I love the part where is states "give a smile to every living creature I meet."  When it is just an ordinary or difficult day for you and you are out running errands, make sure you smile.  It is amazing to see how someone will just perk up because they saw you smiling at them.  Then they smile back.  Before you know it you're have a good day.

The Secret is a great book to keep in your desk. Whenever you have free minute pick it up and read a passage to keep your mind in the positive thought process.

Hey Sherry. Another good post. Its funny if you go around this site and see where people "comment" most. It seems that positive "blogs" and blogs like yours (and mine at times) seem to get the least amount of comments. Overall, if the priorities are not in order, not much else can be either.

Deb, thanks for the honorable mention, and we all can be positive. It doesn't mean we deny reality and that life can't be hard on us at times. You just do the best with the hand you are dealt. Working at it each day to make your life and the lives of others better. Also associating with others who uplift you, make you laugh, give you a good feeling to be around. Like Deb in the Rain.

Keep growing those smiles Deb. You're the BEST!!!

Thank you for the post! I am going to print out the 'promise to myself' you included and stick it around the house...and on the side of computer monitor. A reminder will always do me good.

BTW, I love the promise to 'spend so much time improving myself that I have no time to criticize others'!

Lenn, that is yet another variation of the belief system and a darned good book. I can tell you've lived by that!

Erica, I have not seen the movie! I'll have to catch it.

Laura, it becomes difficult at times to see the positive but it's all around us!

Sherry, that's exactly what I do. It sits around and I pick it up once in a while for a pick-me-up!

Jeff, just keep writing and you will see the benefits! Some posts get a lot of comments and others don't. The main goal is to have it "read".

Gary, you are welcome my dear friend. You are an inspiration to all.

Dane! I'm so glad you've joined us. I love your posts. I am looking forward to reading them and getting to know you better! Thank you!

Thank you for the invite!

I have not read the book...and did not know there was a movie. I haven't even seen an episode of Oprah about 'The Secret'. Judging by the promise to harm can come from it but possibly some good.
